Fabric Pins Fiber Art you can wear!

JK's fabric pins are all handmade by me.   Fabrics are embellished with beads and fiber, and become "Fiber Art You Can Wear".   The pins are lightweight and can be worn on shirts, tops, jackets, blazers, hats, shoes, purses and more.

The fabrics and beads used in my pins are all quilt and bead shop quality.   The designs are all my own.   I just make them up, and there are always more designs floating around in my head.   Some are one-of-a-kind designs.   The techniques I use are developed by drawing on my extensive sewing and quilting background of over 40 years.   Each pin takes two hours or more to make.   Just the simple beading around the pin edge takes me forty-five minutes (included in the two hours).   My methodology is mostly hand sewing, and no glue is used.

Several design lines have evolved.   The "Classic" designs include the ever popular "Swirl", several varieties of "Flowers", "Flags" and "Mountains".   There are "Filigree" and "Heart" designs.   Many of the "Artsy" creations incorporate wonderful lamp work beads as a focal point.   A number of "Cancer Awareness" designs are available.   Due to the increasing number of JK Designs, the sometimes limited availability of materials, and the fact that I personally hand make each pin, all designs may not always be available on the website or at my other venues.

Now, a necklace option is available.   Each pin has a "pin back" hand sewn on the back that can be used to connect the pin to the garment or other surface.   An additional option is to add an inexpensive "Pin Converter".   This allows the wearer to wear the pin on a chain or other necklace, without pinning it to a garment or other item.   Just open the pin back, slide the tube portion of the converter onto the pin, close the pin back, slide a chain or other necklace through the loop portion of the converter and wear the pin as a necklace.
